Everen Maxwell’s Freerunner Places Big in Major Songwriting Contests

Everen was notified earlier this week that he is a Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition! What came with it was a request for publicity shots and an official bio for distribution if he is one of the winners in his category (EDM). This is the second major songwriting contest in which “Freerunner” has placed big. It was awarded a Semi-Finalist finish in the 2017 Song of the Year contest.

“My first official single has gained top honors in two of the major songwriting contests in the country,” Everen said. “I am truly honored and excited to be included among such an elite group of artists and professionals. All I can say is WOW! I really can’t believe it.”

International Songwriting Contest

The song “Freerunner” in the “EDM (Electronic Dance Music)” category has been selected as a finalist by the 2017 ISC listening committee. With over 16,000 entrants, only 2% of all entrants have been selected as finalists.

This is a remarkable achievement, and we are very proud of your accomplishment. – Candace Avery, Founder/Director of International Songwriting Competition

You can view the complete list of finalists and semi-finalists at http://www.songwritingcompetition.com/winners. All finalists’ songs have been sent to the ISC celebrity judges who will select the winners. Winners will be announced in April as soon as the results are in. Fingers crossed for Everen!

Song of the Year

Everen entered two songs in the Song of the Year contest: “Freerunner” and “Keep Your Dreams Alive.”
The ‘Semi-Finalist’ placement is the highest placement next only to the one Winner and four Finalists from each category. The “Runner Up” placement is the next highest placement under the “Semi-Finalist” placement. Both placements indicate that Everen’s material was in the top 1% of all of the material entered into the contest. And he was one of only two writers who had two different songs that placed in the contest.
